Analyst Shanon Trueman works with agriculture and food companies to provide insight and analysis of plant diseases, genetically modified organisms, and organic farming. Clients draw on her expertise in food safety and regulations governing the use, efficacy, and registration of pesticides and biological control organisms to successfully institute quality control measures. She is also a member of the Nerac intellectual property group, with experience and training in patent investigation. Before joining Nerac in 1999, Ms. Trueman was quality control director for Connecticut-based Earthgro, where she helped to create potting soils with disease-suppressive qualities. Ms. Trueman, who holds a master’s of science degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts and a bachelor’s of science in agronomy from the University of Connecticut, also worked at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, assisting on projects such as disease identification and control. Her technical expertise also includes microbiology, mycology, entomology, and bacteriology. Ms. Trueman has authored several publications relating to plant pathology, organic foods, and health foods, and presented several papers at conferences.
