We live in a very litigious business world, with many of the lawsuits in the form of patent infringement. The seemingly never-ending Apple-Samsung dispute is not unique – it is estimated that 2000-3000 patent infringement actions are initiated each year. Many individuals and companies obtain patents to gain exclusivity in their respective market places. The problem arises because many times patents are written in broad language that might be subject to interpretation.
